Jonathan Friesen – A Writer’s Life: Who You Are and What You’re Not.

September 12, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Navigation

It’s taken me eight published novels, numerous literary awards, and a fair amount of success to realize that I am not a writer. That’s too small an aspiration. We are more… much more, and embracing this, whether you’re young or seasoned, frees us to write on the page words we never believed we could. Come hear of a path to success that looks little like success, but feels a lot like life!

Jonathan Friesen is an award-winning author, international speaker, and professor at North Central University. His personal experience with Tourette syndrome and Epilepsy inspired him to write the highly acclaimed novel Jerk, California (Penguin, 2008), winner of the American Library Association’s 2009 Schneider Award—“Best Book for Teens.” He’s the author of eight novels, including Both of Me and the upcoming Unfolding, which have earned rave reviews for their stunning portrayal of relational hope amidst emotional chaos.

Jonathan now travels the country sharing his heart for the hurting with audiences of all ages.

When he’s not writing, speaking, or teaching, Jonathan hangs out with his family on a small farm in central Minnesota.
