A Beginner’s Guide to Biblical Prophecy

A Beginner’s Guide to Biblical Prophecy

Tom Hoffman’s A Beginner’s Guide to Biblical Prophecy is a layman’s introduction to Biblical prophecy, apocalypse signs, and the rapture, a complex theological field he is striving to make more widely accessible.

Hoffman’s exegesis of end-times prophecy books is a deeply learned contribution of particular interest to those interested in Bible study and biblical prophecy but who have little previous education on the subject. With this project, Hoffman aims to give both Christians and non-Christians a preliminary but powerful initiation into the field of Biblical prophecy, creating a strong foundation for further study.

This guide will take readers through the particulars of known prophecies and how they might be understood; interpretations of apocalypse signs; what we know of major figures in the times to come and what we might glean about the future from this information; explorations of the book of Revelations and the book of Daniel; and finally, the second coming of Jesus Christ.

"I wish I would have found this book sooner." "This book is a great read for anyone interested in an introduction to biblical prophecy as it relates to the end times, also known as eschatology. I am a novice/hobbyist when it comes to theology and I've noticed that the copious amounts of literature available often makes it hard to know where to start. I wish I would have found this book sooner. Some eschatological resources tend to contort scripture to fit the author/scholar's own agenda instead of using scripture to present the truth the verses intended to convey. Tom Hoffman doesn't repeat the mistakes of other biblical scholars, as he supports the entirety of his book with sound scriptures. Personally, I am undecided on my position regarding Pre/Mid/Post tribulation doctrine, but I am open minded regarding the issue. I don't consider a difference in views regarding eschatology to be heaven/hell dilemmas, meaning that whether Christians share the belief in Christ as the Messiah who came, lived, died, and will return is the only heaven/hell issue. This book presents a clear correlation of current events, biblical prophecy, and how both relate to the end of days' timetable. The language is clear, direct, and easy to follow. Each Chapter builds a solid succession on the foundation in an orderly fashion. I especially enjoyed the decision to close on heaven and exhalations to remain committed to our shared identity in Christ as the collective body of the church. With such heavy subject matter, it is good not to get so lost in the material that we forget the fact that all of history has been preordained by a Holy and Loving Father. The additional resources presented in the appendix are welcome vehicles to dive deeper into eschatology if you are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to find out more about the end of days like myself. So, get started by reading 'A Beginners Guide to Prophecy'. What are you waiting for?"

"Adhere to the word of God and to stay the course" "Hoffman masterfully reminds us of the importance Christians have to not only adhere to the word of God, but also to stay the course and spread the word in his new book, A Beginner's Guide to Bible Prophecy, Unraveling the End-Times. Truly a beginner's guide for all those who are new, or returning, to the Christian faith. The Bible is replete with reminders of the coming age and our earthly responsibilities to pay attention and live a Christ-like existence. In true New Testament form, we are reminded once again to turn our lives to Christ and repent. Accept the good news for what it is and, in my personal experience, accept with joy a life similar to that of Job. Referring to the infamous questioning of Nicodemus, how can we be born again if we have already been born, Hoffman reveals the truth of the importance of being reborn of the Spirit, a second birth if you will, a personal choice to be reborn. Jesus tells us to make no mistake, we must be born again in order to pass through the gates of Heaven and see His face. Further, referring to the adherence of the word, we are reminded once again that we are protected from the great tribulation by the blood of Christ as we live through the word and strive to be the best we can be under the word. The word is the Bible and if we wish to pass through the gates, we must do all that we can to sing the praises of the glory of God. Obtain a copy and keep it as a guide, or pass it along to a wayward soul."
